Dear Soon To Be Sixth Grader,

As a student who transitioned from 5th to 6th grade at this school, I definitely had the same questions as you do now. All of it will be answered once you enter middle school. Most kids who are rising sixth graders often feel that they are going to be stressed, have lots of homework, and have to juggle having different classes for different subjects when they enter middle school. You may seem nervous but trust me, all of it will go away once you enter middle school. Let’s get started with some basics about Sixth Grade. So first of all, to get your worry about homework out of the way, we have a schedule for each day and some days, you won’t have a specific class. So homework is not always due the next day after it’s assigned. Homework isn’t that much of worry no that I’ve got the hang of keeping everything tracked on my agenda. Second of all, being organized, getting good grades, and being well behaved are the key points of being an excellent student. As you become a middle schooler, teachers will often think of you as mature child since you’re not with little kids anymore in the same division. You will also get a school locker along with a gym locker for keeping your backpack and books you don’t need for some classes. Middle schoolers get to decorate their own lockers and have to keep it organized. There will obviously be a lock and try not to forget your code! You will be given many more papers than fifth. Anyway, you are going to do great and succeed in Middle School. Without the past, the future can not happen.

Sincerely, Ruhee
