My Reflection On Washington’s Farewell Address

I feel that Washington’s advice was very influential advice. The fact that we still reread his letter in the Senate every year since 1863, it shows how much this has changed America. Even with this 40 minute long farewell address filled with many details, we still as a government decided not to really pay attention to it. Duels and many different sides of view each with angry people showed us how after he died in 1796, the nation fell apart into the hands of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. They were rivals some days and friends other days which made making laws very difficult. They supported different political parties and that mainly caused the duel with Aaron Burr and Hamilton which caused the death of Hamilton. I thought it was such a coincidence that all this happened after Washington feared it so much, he included it in his farewell address. Let’s remember not to let this happen ever again.
