“Imagine If You Were A Tribe Member Who Left Their Home Tribe to Visit Some New Tribes. Compare Your Home Tribe To The Tribe You Visited In A Letter To Your Family. Would You Leave Your Home Tribe To Live With Your New Tribe? Why or Why Not?
Dear Beloved Family,
My excruciating long journey has been tiring nor special but a gift to open up society and a new community we can live on with our legacy. If you might be wondering where I am, I am on the the territory of the Creek tribe seemingly far away from our Cherokee tribe. I’m on a mission to figure out the differences between the Cherokee’s culture and ethnicity and others. I also want to create some peace so we can stop fighting over ideas that are able to be fixed with a little reasoning.
I had been walking for 3 days depending on the kindness of people to give me a place to sleep and shelter from the storms. I finally landed upon the territory of the Creek tribe, a place filled with many people who love their sense of community. The Creek people eat their crops of corn, beans, squash, melon and sweet potatoes. They have their own crops of corn that makes them unique out of other tribes. The Creek people also hunt deer, wild turkeys, and bear. Most recently, they extended their farming activities to hunt cow, horses, and pigs. I bought sunflower seeds for the Creek tribe to try and see if they like it for themselves. They also do not have individual gardens. However, they play lacrosse just like the Cherokee tribe. House were different in shape and structure based on the power of that person or the season that they are in. They believe in a monotheistic religion and subsequently call themselves the “ Muskogees”.
The leaders of the tribe agreed for me to join their tribe. I will not join their tribe for many. One, is that I was born to the Cherokee tribe and I will never leave my tribe that I was born into and grew up in. Two, is that I will never leave you guys, or my family, and I will still visit the Creek tribe occasionally. Life is a journey and leaving your original place where your entire life started is not the way to go.
