Places filled with people and noise are more likely to disrupt Debbie Tung’s mind. Today, most people in the world are extroverts who are filled with the need to talk. This is what Debbie call’s the ”loud voice”. The ”silent power of introverts ” was the most influential force in the completion of the book’s plot. It opened up the valid way an introvert’s mind works by making other people’s ideas about an introvert something they never realized before.

Debbie Tung is living in a symbolic noisy world as someone who loves to read and not speak in public. She feels worthless while in big groups of college students but beloved to the Earth while in her room. How could that be? “I’ve always felt like there is something wrong with me. I’ve been like this my entire life.” This evidence supports the thesis by telling readers how an ”actual introvert’s” mind functions taking in the bad comments or accusations most of the time. (39)

Books are an important part of Debbie’s daily life. They symbolize her love for learning and literature. She obviously can’t live without them as she would feel the feelings for losing a loved one.” Whenever I read a good book, I tend to get too emotionally attached to the characters. And after I’ve finished reading it, it feels like a relationship just ended.” Jason says ” What are you doing?” while Debbie takes a photo. She says ” Just taking a photo with my best friends before I leave them.” (104) Debbie treats her books as if they were living things, something very rarely a human mind processes. Books are a ”silent voice” opening up great adventures and ideas.

People can easily confuse introverts as ” always calm, productive, organized and happy or sad when they are quiet”. This book proves the opinions partially wrong as introverts can have all emotions the same way as extroverts. They just don’t show express it the same way in public as in privacy where there aren’t many people around. ” My outer self is shown as calm, friendly, cheerful, and easygoing. My inner self is ”shown” as frustrated, debatable, irritable, and many more.” (97) The evidence supports the thesis by showing the readers to not ”judge a book by its cover” and be acceptable and welcoming to people of other personalities.
