She looks up stricken with insomnia and unable to sleep
She sees ruined tiles and lizards crawling all over her ceiling
She sleeps on the dirty floor with no bed and comfort objects
She wonders why am I here and not somewhere else
Why am I not somewhere, where I can get whatever I want, whenever I want
She wonders if she can live up to her dreams to be a lawyer and not an unpaid farmer
But before she can find an answer she drifts off to sleep as she hoped
30 yrs later……..
She brings her daughter to her large bed, something she yearned for as a child
She tucks her to bed and tells her how fortunate she is to have everything she has ever wanted
Her daughter didn’t have to worry about picking enough wheat the next day for her family
So she fell asleep to sweet instead of monstrous dreams
After she noticed her daughter fell asleep, she gets many phone calls from work and lots of papers to manage, which tells us she finally became a lawyer
She had no idea that she would live up to her dreams and have everything she has ever wanted
2 hours later.. she finishes her work and walks upstairs
She says goodnight to her husband, her soulmate for life
She lays down in her bed with many blankets, unimaginable for her as a child
She looks up tired to the core
She sees a white vaulted ceiling with no bugs or dirt spots
She sleeps on a warm bed with her husband who made her feel belong on this Earth
She wonders how grateful I am to have a job and now I am able to give my daughter a life I didn’t get to have
How I wouldn’t be anywhere else other than where I am today
She got the freedom and a job she has been passionate about for a long time before
She looks up to…… a fabulous ending.
